I know it’s not fun. I know it’s painful and awkward and uncomfortable at times. I know it hurts.
But the only way to rise high, is to dive deep.
You have to fall into the depths of you. Sink into yourself, and start to discover everything about you that’s not sitting on the surface.
Your fears, your failures, your insecurities. Your passions, your purpose, your beliefs. Your secrets and regrets. Your “why.”
Everything that’s been hidden by time, turmoil or circumstance. All that’s buried beneath your garden of excuses. All that’s waiting to be found.
You have to ask yourself the tough questions and accept the harsh answers.
The deeper we go into the origins of how we feel and what we think and what we do and why we do it and who we are doing it for, the clearer our paths become.
Some chances are too fleeting to feel often.
Some choices are too rare to reoccur regularly.
Opportunities that appear in an instant, and then escape in a flash.
Moments that are meant to be earned, and learned, and appreciated.
Invisible openings into a world of potential and possibility. Unscripted. Uncommon. And unseen…
Today, is that day. Today, Hope comes out of hiding. And Belief meets us for breakfast. Promise drives us to work, and Time is FINALLY on our side…
Three-quarters of our life, we are denied this day.
Today, it’s in our hands. Given and gifted. Wrapped and ready. No strings attached. An extra day to dream, and do, and fix, and finish. An added occasion to begin rebuilding what’s been broken, and start seizing what we’ve let slide.
Twenty-four more hours to claim what’s truly ours…
What will you do with them?
Sometimes the best emotions aren’t the happiest ones.
Sometimes the most meaningful moments aren’t the ones when we’re smiling the widest…
Sometimes it’s those moments before the highs and just past the lows… Those spaces between… That create the most lasting impact.
That perfectly imperfect collision of feelings… A little sadness, a little reflection, a little uncertainty, all wrapped in a wreath of hopefulness…
Those quiet sentiments that remind us what we’re searching for…
If we can just be still.
Just soak in the moment.
Let the truth of the night and the trail of the light hold us without judgment or jury.
If we let ourselves fall deeper inside ourselves… Then maybe we’ll find that love never left us.
And love doesn’t need to be found.
Maybe we’ll see that it was here, waiting for us to come home.
I’ve learned that passion provides the spark, but without perseverance, you can never get to where you want to go.
It’s your self-induced resilience and tenacity and belief that keeps you going when the walls are crumbling and the sky begins to fall.
It’s an unbreakable commitment to a mission that’s greater than you, a vision that’s larger than you, and a purpose that has nothing to do with you… that’s what enables you to inch forward.
And I really do believe that’s the biggest lesson. Just to keep going. Even when it’s hard or dark or painful. Even when your toes are tired and your compass is broken.
